Vessel Gallery is proud to present renowned Spanish designer Jaime Hayon's first
collection for porcelain company par excellence Lladro. Following his appointment as
Artistic Director of the company last year Hayon has produced a truly innovative contemporary range of vases, candle holders and figurines in his own distinctive visual
language.
Hayon's star is truly in the ascendant in the international creative firmament. Being a real
Renaissance man he has applied his extensive talents to furniture, products and even
architecture with companies as diverse as Bisazza, Camper, Benetton and Villa Moda.
His flamboyant style fuses a bold colour palate to witty and surrealist forms, a style he
calls 'Mediterranean digital baroque'. Ever the entertainer, Hayon plays with cicrus imagery, kitsch family groupings, stream lined fluid shapes, and even pays homage to
himself with new versions of his chicken rocker or figures wearing his designs for Camper
shoes. |
