Each
piece is a unique work of art that demands an intimate and vast knowledge
of glass and how it responds as a material. In these pieces, the glass
is taken to extremes through the use of colour, layering and the
introduction of air bubbles - an almost impossible task to control.
These pieces are achieved by the hugely talented glass blowers and
polishers at iittala who follow the original designs dreamt up by
Sarpaneva in the 1980's.
